4 Sisters Conqueres Carstensz Pyramid
This morning, on 16 March 2025, the four daughters of Ms Rinzin Doma Sherpa and the late Dorjee Sherpa celebrated a significant milestone in their historic mountaineering journey. The sisters successfully summited the Carstensz Pyramid, which stands at 4,884 meters and is the highest peak in Oceania.
With this achievement, three of the sisters, Nima Jangmu Sherpa, Tshering Namgya Sherpa, and Dawa Futi Sherpa, have conquered five out of the seven summits, with only Mt. Denali in North America and Mt. Vinson in Antarctica remaining on their list. The eldest sister, Chhiri Aangjum, recently joined the mission and has already climbed the Aconcagua and Carstensz Pyramids.

A Journey of Dedication and Legacy
The four sisters, Nima Jangmu Sherpa, Tshering Namgya Sherpa, Dawa Futi Sherpa, and Chhiri Aangjum Sherpa, are on a mission to complete the 7 Summits, honouring their late father, Dorjee Sherpa. Dorjee was a legendary guide known for his incredible strength and resilience.
In 1983, while guiding a winter expedition on Everest, he suffered severe frostbite, resulting in the loss of eight fingers. Despite this setback, he continued to climb and guide on smaller peaks, always dreaming of reaching the summit of Everest, a dream he could never fulfil. Now, his daughters have taken it upon themselves to honour his legacy by achieving what he could not.

The Eldest Sister Joins the Quest
Chhiri Aangjum, the eldest of the four, joined her younger sisters from their Aconcagua expedition and has now successfully climbed Carstensz Pyramid. To catch up with her sisters’ previous achievements, she is set to climb Kilimanjaro and Elbrus in March-April and Everest in April-May. By the end of 2025, she will have completed the full seven Summits alongside them.
The Final Two Summits
The journey is far from over. The four sisters will embark on their final climbs together:
- • Mt. Denali (June 2025): The highest peak in North America.
- • Mt. Vinson (December 2025): The highest peak in Antarctica.
This remarkable achievement will be the first time in history that four daughters from the same family have climbed Mount Everest together and completed the Seven Summits. Their journey goes beyond a personal tribute; it serves as a beacon of inspiration for women around the world, demonstrating that with determination, passion, and perseverance, no dream is too big to achieve.
