Mount Everest Summit from North Side
On 24 May 2025 at 8:40 to 9:15 am NPT, a team from the Everest North Expedition from Imagine Nepal successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest (8,848.86 meters) from the North Side.
The group were supposed to make their final summit push on 23 May 2025, but due to the high wind, the team had to return halfway to the summit. On the day, only Justin Moore Walker, an American climber, and two Sherpas, Ang Mingma Sherpa and Thupten Topchen Sherpa from our partner agency, Rolwaling Excursion, reached the summit.
Today, on 24 May, in perfect weather, nine climbers reached the summit, including a group leader, Dawa Gyalje Sherpa, who had climbed all 14 8000-meter peaks after the summit of Shishapangma in 2024.

Including the summit on 23 May, below are the summiteers:

Chhiri Aangjum Sherpa

Chhiri Aangjum Sherpa, the eldest sister of the Four Sisters Seven Summit mission, joined her younger sisters on the Aconcagua expedition in 2025. With today’s summit of Everest, she has successfully summited four of the Seven Summits: Aconcagua, Carstensz Pyramid, Elbrus, and Everest. By the end of 2025, she aims to conquer all the highest peaks on each continent with her sisters.

Dr Simone Molter

For Dr Simone, a German climber, the summit of Everest from the North is the first 8000-meter summit. Earlier, Dr Simone had climbed Annapurna IV in 2023 as part of her training for Everest, and a 7000-meter peak is a mandatory requirement to climb Everest from the North side, a rule by the Chinese Government.

Angela Yeung (Chee Yee Yeung)

For Angela Yeung (a climber from South Africa), the summit of Everest from the North Side is her second 8000-meter peak. Her purpose of climbing Everest is not only a personal milestone but also a platform to raise global awareness and funds for survivors of GBV. Her foundation seeks to build an educational sanctuary for young women impacted by violence, empowering them with the tools to rebuild their lives. She had climbed Manaslu in 2023. Angela is the founder of Impilo Collection Foundation, a philanthropic organization based in South Africa that actively addresses gender-based violence (GBV) through awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and educational programs.
