I’ve climbed with them three times – Ama Dablam, Manaslu and Everest. Base camp facilities were great, food was even better I thought I would get fat!

I was guided by Dawa Gyalzen Sherpa (IFMGA) on all three. I’ve never felt more safe when he is around. The other Sherpas around were also amazing – great humor, strength and patience. My experience climbing through the Khumbu Icefall with Dawa Tenjin was great, his patience and strength/speed through the dangerous sections made it an absolute pleasure to climb with.

Mingma G is a great leader, he will always show up, especially in acute situations. He is never leading from afar. I’ve witnessed his compassion and stoicism during the avalanche on Manaslu in ‘22 which injured several Imagine sherpas, as well as the tragic icefall accident on Everest in ‘23 that killed 3 Imagine sherpas. You’d want someone like him behind your back.
