Welcome to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal! Our team is excited to have you here, and we are looking forward to a great trekking experience with you.
As per the program, an airport pick-up and drop-off service are provided. Our trek leader will meet you at the airport upon your arrival and guide you to the hotel where you will be staying.
Today is the first day, so our guide will inform you of the pre-departure meeting time and location upon arrival. This meeting is crucial as it will allow you to meet the rest of the group, get to know each other, and discuss the details of the trek.
Afterwards, our guide will take you to the finest restaurants in the city for a group dinner. It will be an excellent opportunity to taste local cuisine and bond with your fellow trekkers.

Day 02 Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast, we will embark on a full-day Kathmandu sightseeing tour. The tour will cover some significant sightseeing areas around the Kathmandu Valley, all listed as world heritage sites.
First, we will visit the Durbar Squares, which will give us a glimpse of the regal life of ancient periods. Then, we will proceed to the Pashupatinath temple, one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimages, where we can witness Hinduism's religious rituals and traditions.
Next, we will visit the Boudhanath temple, the largest Buddhist Chhorten/stupa ever made worldwide.
Lastly, we will visit Swoyambhunath temple, also known as the Monkey Temple, located on the hilltop west of the Kathmandu valley. It is a Buddhist temple and a popular tourist destination around the globe. From here, we can also enjoy the panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley.
This full-day Kathmandu sightseeing tour will allow us to explore Nepal's rich cultural and religious heritage.

Day 03 Drive to Syabrubesi

After enjoying an early breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our journey northwest through Balaju. As we climb steadily, we will soon reach the rim of the Kathmandu Valley. If the weather is clear, we can enjoy breathtaking views of the Manaslu massif, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Jugal Himal.
We will then begin our winding descent from the Valley Ridgetop, passing through Kakani. The road conditions can be rigorous, so we must be prepared for a bumpy ride. However, the stunning views along the way will make it all worthwhile.
Today's drive to Syabrubesi is quite long, covering an average distance of 120 km. It will take us approximately 5 to 6 hours to reach our destination.

Day 04 Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

The trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel is an exciting journey that takes you through diverse landscapes, from woods filled with monkeys to a deciduous region rich in birdlife and home to the highly elusive red panda.
The trek starts with a descent from Syabrubesi, followed by a turn northwards. As you go through the woods, you will encounter monkeys swinging from tree to tree. The trail then leads to the village of Doman, where you will climb steeply over a rocky ridge and reach a junction with the track from Thulo Syabru, the gateway to the Helambu trek from the Rasuwa district.
The region is known for its diverse flora and fauna, and you will witness the highly elusive red panda in its natural habitat. As you continue the trail, a long climb through more forest brings you to another junction. Beyond the intersection, the gradient eases as you near Langtang Khola.
Crossing the Langtang Khola, the trail climbs through a wooded area and past waterfalls before finally reaching the Lama Hotel. The stunning views of the natural beauty of Nepal will leave you in awe.

Day 05 Trek to Mundu Village

Today, we start our day by following the Langtang Khola and gradually climb upwards towards Ghora Tabela, located at 2970 meters. Along the way, we will be treated to fascinating views of Langtang Lirung.
After passing through the village of Thangshep, we will reach a point where the valley opens, providing some respite from the strenuous climb. Eventually, we will arrive at the rock field where Langtang Village used to be located. This village was home to numerous lodges, but unfortunately, it was wiped out by debris caused by the 2015 earthquake. The earthquake resulted in the loss of many lives, including locals, Nepalese, and tourists on the trek during the peak season in Nepal.
After reflecting on the tragedy, we will continue our journey and trek for another half an hour to reach the new settlement of Mundu Village. This village is a new Langtang and a symbol of hope and resilience for the people affected by the earthquake.

Day 06 Trek to Kyanjin Gompa

Today we trek to Kyanjin Gompa, surrounded by equally spectacular peaks, including the Langtang range and Langshisa. We will steadily progress towards Kyanjin Gompa, taking in the breathtaking views.
Upon reaching Kyanjin Gompa, we can hike one hour uphill towards the Langtang Lirung Glacier, provided we have enough time. This hike will offer us stunning views of the glacier and its surrounding landscape. Alternatively, we can choose to relax and take in the beauty of the village or explore it further.
Kyanjin Gompa is a Buddhist monastery surrounded by beautiful mountains and glaciers. It is also home to a cheese factory that produces delicious Yak cheese, which we can sample during our stay.

Day 07 Free day at Kyanjin Gompa

Today, we will have a well-deserved rest day at Kyanjin Gompa. This free day will give us plenty of opportunities to explore the village and its surroundings. In the afternoon, we can hike to the Langtang Lirung Glacier, located at an altitude of 4,300 meters and takes around one hour uphill. This hike will offer us stunning views of the glacier and the surrounding landscape, and it is a great way to get some exercise while taking in the beauty of the Langtang region.
Alternatively, we can explore Kyanjin Gompa and its half-century-old, Swiss-influenced yak cheese factory. This cheese factory produces delicious Yak cheese, which is a speciality of the region, and we can learn about the cheese-making process and sample some of the cheese during our visit.
