Aka Chnyak Gyaljen was born in Thame, Khumbu Region. Phur has climbed 9 of the 14 eight thousandmeters peaks. Besides this, he is among only five Nepalese climbers who made the YalungKhang-8505m summit. Yalung Khang and Kanchenjunga are sister peaks on the same range sharing the sameway till 8200m. Phinjo also made six attempts on Lhotse via South Face (the most challenging route).He has climbed peaks over 5000m and 6000m several times.
